The Fairy Tale Bride (Montana Born Brides #1)

The Fairy Tale Bride

I always love reading books based in the magical town of Marietta, but somehow this book disappointed me a little because it was too short. This was my first time reading a book by Scarlet Wilson and I enjoyed her writing style as it was simple and showed both perspectives. Lisa's character was one of a strong and independent woman who has overcome much pain in her life, but I did not get to know her well enough to fall in love with her character. Adam's character was a typical romance hero who was wary of women because he had been burnt in the past, but I felt we knew even less about Adam than we did about Lisa and that made him hard to relate to. The chemistry between Adam and Lisa was good, but nothing special because the author left out the intimate scenes between the two. The story definitely lacked depth as there was much potential that was left untapped as the ending was rushed and it felt like the main characters fell in love and decided to get married way to quickly. Overall this was a sweet and short romance that lacked depth and character development.

Rating: 2.5/5

Plot

Lisa Renee is the owner of Marietta's bridal salon and when a celebrity wedding rolls into town, Lisa is determined to do her best by hosting the fairy tale wedding for her client. The celebrity's badly behaved bridesmaids end up breaking Lisa's poise, excitements and hopes of putting her boutique on the map. The only place she seems to find peace is the pediatric ward in the local hospital where she volunteers, but a meeting with the new and handsome doctor changes all of that.

Dr Adam Brady is enjoying his new job in his new home town of Marietta, but he has not been able to focus since he met the gorgeous Lisa. As Lisa and Adam spend more time together, sparks begin to fly and he realizes he might not be the only one hiding something.
