Bare Ass in Love

Bare Ass in Love

This is my first time reading a book by Sasha Burke and I really enjoyed a book after a long time because the author's dual point of view style of writing was fun, light and almost flawless. Summer's character is fun, hardworking, intelligent and different and I loved that the book addressed the sexism present in some job fields, however I would have liked more insight to her past. Jason's character was your typical alpha male billionaire, but at the same time he was very down the Earth and I absolutely loved his character especially when he would get jealous and possessive. The chemistry between Jason and Summer was explosive and definitely one of my favorite parts of the book. I did wish that the book had a bit more drama and detail, but never the less it was brilliant book and I look forward to reading other books by Sasha Burke.

Rating: 4.5/5

Plot

Jason is a billionaire builder who does not usually consider blurring the lines between boss and employee, but Summer is a sexy temptation who is obsessive over work details. She is a good tenant and employee who does not throw herself at Jason because he is rich.

Summer thinks Jason is a saint because he hired her for her dream job and gave her an extravagant loft to live in. He can be a grouch when Summer wakes him up in the middle of the night to discuss work, but he still a great boss and landlord. But one day Summer begins to notice Jason as a hot and sexy man and sparks begin to fly between the two.

Decidedly Off Limits (By the Bay #1)

Decidedly Off Limits

This was my first time reading a book by Stina Lindenblatt and I found that I really enjoyed her dual point of writing style as well as her friendly characters. Kelsey's character was adorable because she has been crushing on her brothers best friend and could never act on it because she seemed unaware of how obviously attracted Trent was to her, however I felt that at times her character was conflicting because she could be free spirited at one minute and serious the next. Trent's character had potential which was not explored because he was just depicted of a workaholic player who has a fear of commitment.  The chemistry between Trent and Kelsey was sweet and romantic, but at the same time it was very hot. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of all their friends. I did wish that the book had a bit more drama and that the characters had a bit more depth. Overall this was a light and sweet romantic read and I would possibly read the rest of the series.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Trent Salaway in one of San Francisco's most eligible bachelor who is a highly successful portfolio manager, a workaholic and definitely a ladies man who has everything he wants except one.

Kelsey Quaid is a physical therapist who was dumped by her ex fiance because she always came second to his work. This is the exact reason that even though she has been crushing on her brothers best friend for most of her life, there is no way she can go there because she cannot go from one workaholic to another.

Before Kelsey's brother leaves for a SEAL mission he ask Trent for one favor which is to ensure that his sister does not date any assholes. As Trent tries to do this he and Kelsey begin to spend more time together. Sparks begin to fly and the next thing you know, things are getting physical between them. Now Trent has to decide what to do with the woman he is falling for especially since her brother can take him down easily.  Kelsey would have to decide if Trent is just another workaholic or if he is decidedly off limits.

When You're Ready (Ready #1)

When You're Ready

This was a sweet and emotional book, that got me addicted to the story to the point that I was unable to put the book down. It was my first time reading a book by J.L Berg and I really loved the writing style because she managed to put so much emotion in the characters though the dual point style of writing.  I loved Clare's character because she was a strong independent single mother and widow who survived her husbands illness and  death. Logan's character was the cliche because he was the rich heart broken playboy who reforms after love at first sight, but I did enjoy his character development. The chemistry and romance between Clare and Logan was hot and sweet at the same time, which was really enjoyable. I liked the secondary characters of Logan and Clare's friends as they brought a sense of family to the book. I wished that the book showed more of Logan's profession or even interactions with his father and sister because the book was too perfect and really lacked the drama  needed to make it excellent. I would have also like to see part of Logan's recovery at the end because that part was  rushed and not given much importance. Overall this was a great book filled with emotions and I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Clare Murray is a single mother, who was still holding on to her the last letter her husband wrote before he died, those heart wrenching words When You're ready still bring her to her knees so many years later.

Resisting Roots (Lotus House #1)

Resisting Roots

This is my first time reading a yoga based book as well as the first time reading a book by Audrey Carlan and I must say that I really enjoyed the experience. I am someone who knows basically nothing about yoga and this book helps even the beginner understand the lingo and the different postures, this makes the book easy to read. Audrey's writing was good and I loved the dual point of view style of writing as well as the sense of family she added into the book. Genevieve' character was a strong independent woman who was left to shoulder the responsibility of her siblings after their parents died and I really enjoyed the mature personality that the author gave her as well as how she was always putting her family needs first. Trent's character was brilliantly developed as he grew as a person from a player to a family man over the entire novel. The chemistry between Trent and Genevieve was extremely hot especially with the inclusion of the yoga. The secondary characters of both Trent and Genevieve families were well written and added to the depth of the novel. I only wished that there was more of the sporting side included as well as more drama. Overall this was a great book with the combination of romance, yoga and family and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Genevieve Harper is a 24 year old hot yoga instructor who life has been filled with responsibility and sacrifice.  She is trying to make the most of raising her two sibling after their parents tragic death, this means she definitely has no time for a man or romance.

Trent Fox is a successful baseball player who has the reputation of being a 'player' both on and off the baseball field. He has recently suffered from a torn hamstring which forces him to go to the Lotus House Yoga Center for recuperation. There he meets the gorgeous Genevieve with whom he secures private lessons that end up showing him how sensual the art of yoga can be.

Can love bloom between a woman who is rooted in her life and responsibilities and a man who resits the notion of staying in one place?

Some Sort of Crazy (Happy Crazy Love #2)

Some Sort of Crazy

This was my first time reading a book  by Melanie Harlow and I found that this book sucked me right in with its humorous characters and situations.  I really enjoyed Melanie's dual point of view style of writing and her effortless way of creating funny situations. Natalie's character was that of a strong and independent woman who loves to plan her life out and does not like change, but I did like the way she opened up after breaking up with Dan. I found Mile's character to be very childish and immature but I liked how he developed towards the end and realized what he wants out if life. The chemistry between Miles and Natalie was sizzling ht and I really enjoyed all their intimate scenes. While reading the book I did find a grammatical error and I personally felt that the book was dragging towards the end. Overall this was a funny book that shows the great journey of two friends becoming lovers

Rating: 3.5/5

Plot

Natalie Nixon has everything she ever wanted out of life, she has a successful bakery, the perfect boyfriend and her dream house, so when a psychic tells her that her life is about  upended by a stranger she laughs it off.

Then her childhood friend Miles Haas comes back into town., but he is no stranger since they have known each other for 10 years. He is a shameless playboy, who is only around for the summer and makes a living by writing articles about sex.

Summer Heat: A Storm Inside Novel (The Wild Pitch Series Book 1)

Summer Heat: A Storm In Inside Novel

I am a huge fan of sport romances and I really enjoyed this second chance love story filled with family feuds and unconditional love. This was my first time reading a book by Alexis Anne and her writing was good, but I wished the book was written from a dual point of view because as I reader at time I wanted to know what was happening with Roman's family and what was going through his mind. I also did not enjoy the past and present style of writing as I wished that they had just given us the background story first and then continued with the story because it sometimes felt like we were missing important facts about their past. Roman's character was your typical alpha male sportsman however I enjoyed the fact that he did not let his injury ruin him but instead he made it positive and became a better person. June's character always seemed confused as she did not know what she wanted or needed and this kind of annoyed me. The chemistry between June and Roman was good, but it could have been better. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of all Junes family members as they added to the humor of the book. Overall this was a good second chance sports romance filled with family drama.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

June Daniels had fallen in love with the wrong man many years ago because they could never be together due to their family feud.

Roman St James was off limits, but this feud was neither Junes or Roman's. Their family rivalry is one of the most famous in baseball history, but Roman is nothing like his father. Your Irresistible Love (The Bennett Family #1)

Your Irresistible Love

After a very long time did I found a book that I really enjoyed because this book had the almost everything I love in a romance novel such as an alpha male, an independent female character and great chemistry.  This was my first time reading a book by Layla Hagen and I found that I really enjoyed her dual point of view style of writing and the fact that she did not only make this book about the romance but also about family and friendships. I loved Sebastian's character because he was a self built billionaire who loved his family and always put them first in his life and of course I loved that he was a gorgeous alpha male who gets possessive.  Ava's character was great because she was self sufficient and independent and was more impressed by Sebastian's family and character rather than his money and success. The chemistry between Sebastian and Ava was hot and I really enjoyed that the book was more than just sex, however I did wish that there was more drama in the book. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters of all the Bennett siblings because this book has set the foundation for a great series. Overall this is a great billionaire romance filled with family and a whole lot of chemistry.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Sebastian Bennett is a determined businessman who had built Bennett Enterprises from scratch. Even though he is ruthless in the business arena, his family comes first for him and he can do anything for his parents and siblings even if they drive him crazy at times especially when they are nagging him to get married.

Beauty and the Beast (Beauty #1-4)

Beauty and the Beast

This is my first time reading a book by Skye Warren and I kind of enjoyed it, but I did wish that there was more character and plot development throughout the book. Blake's character was of a wounded soldier who is struggling to integrate back into society after a horrible accident when in the army and who is lusting after the maid who cleans his house. I personally felt that they did not give enough information on Blake's character and I hated the fact that they completely ignored his PTSD and made the book more about sex than emotions, however I did enjoy his protective alpha male side. Erin's character was a typical college student who is completing her masters and is lusting after her employer whom house she cleans. I also felt that there was a lack of background in Erin character because she sometimes felt emotionless and drab and she was not pushing for Blake to get completely better. The chemistry between Blake and Erin was hot, but the writer put to many sex scenes in the book which lead to both the book and characters to lack depth. Overall this book which had a lot of potential lacked character development and a proper story line.

Rating: 2.5/5

Plot

Erin is a college student who cleans the reclusive ex -soldier Blake Morris house every week. Blake is both scarred on the inside and out after a horrible accident in the army and he feels he is no good for the beautiful Erin who cleans his house to pay for college.  All bets are off when Erin walks in on Blake touching himself while moaning her name.

Fire and Love (Hope Falls #13)

Fire and Love

This is the fourth book that I am reading in the Hope Falls series and the fifth by author duo Melanie Shawn and this book has everything you expect from this series such as a sweet second chance romance and the small town charm. I enjoyed the authors dual point of view style of writing  and the simplicity of her characters as it made for an enjoyable read. Eli's character was your typical alpha male who loved to protect those close to him and I loved that he had a sweet side, but I did wish that he had stood up more to Mackenzie. Mackenzie's character was strong and independent and despite not having the best childhood and her heart broken, she still strived to achieve her dreams. The chemistry between Eli and Kenzie was extremely hot and one of my favorite parts of the book. I always enjoy reading the books in this series because you get to see familiar characters from the other Hope Falls series books. I did wish that there was a bot more drama in the book and I would have liked to see Mackenzie confront her father as well as more about her brother in the book. Overall this was a great second chance romance set in the magical town of Hope Falls.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Eli and Mackenzie had believed that their future was set, where she would become a filmmaker and he a firefighter and they would be happily married with tow kids, but fate had something else in store for them.

Royal Player (All Stars #1)

Royal Player

I am a huge fan of the sport romance genre and even though I am not a lover of tennis I had enjoyed this book. It was my first time reading a book by Katie Mccoy and I really enjoyed her dual point of view style of writing. Charlie's character was not your typical spoiled prince as he wanted to make a name for himself away from his royal blood and I enjoyed that, however there were times when he was a hypocrite for not listening to Emmy even though he had a bad reputation. Emmy's character was strong and independent and I enjoyed that she was following her dreams. The chemistry between Emmy and Charlie was good, but not spectacular. Overall this was a good sports read with a bit of royalty thrown in.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Charlie Davenport is the bad boy in British tennis as well as British royalty. He is a beast on the tennis courts and in in bed if the tabloids are to be believed. When Emmy mistakenly steps into Charlie's Wimbledon dressing room  and catches a glimpse of him , she can see what all the girls are raving about.

Emmy knows better than to get involved with a bad boy like Charlie. But now Charlie is in a winning streak and believes that Emmy's kiss is his good luck charm. Suddenly Emmy has the paparazzi following her and exes coming out of the woodwork.

Charmed by the Bartender (Modern Love #1)

Charmed by the Bartender

This is the debut novel by author Piper Rayne, and it was absolutely fabulous for a first book because it was well written and had great characters.  I loved Cole's character because he was sweet and charming, but also possessed alpha male qualities that I loved in a billionaire, however I did not like when he was lying to Whitney because he was always wanting to know her secrets. Whitney's character was that of a modern day girl who is trying to pick herself up after being dealt a bad hand in life and I really enjoyed the fact that she kept on persevering, howsoever her lying to her best friend even for the right reasons were wrong. The chemistry between Cole and Whitney was hot and explosive and I really enjoyed watching them fight their attraction. The secondary characters of Lennon and Tahlia were enjoyable and well conceived. I enjoyed the authors writing, but I did wish that the book was dual point of view because I felt that I did not get to know Cole well enough because I did not get to read his perspective of the story. Even though the author managed to inject humor in the book seamlessly I felt that the drama at the end of the book that I was expecting was missing especially when all the secrets come to light. Overall this is a funny, sweet  and well written romance and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Whitney has been having a hard time recently as she lost her dream job, as forced to move back with her grandparents and was stood up by a guy on Tinder. So when the gorgeous and sexy guy behind the bar starts giving her the sultry look, she is unable to resist him.

By the time Whitney figures out who the bartender really is, she has already begun falling for him.

The Substitute Bride (The Great Wedding Giveaway #7)

The Substitute Bride

This is  a sweet and short romance based in the charming town of Marietta. It is the third book that I have read in the series, but my first by Kathleen O' Brien and I enjoyed her dual point of view writing style, but I did wish that she separated the different POV's better because she was just switching between characters in the same page without proper separation and this made it very confusing. I liked Drew's character because he was sweet and romantic, but I do not think he was realistic as he fell back in love with her again instantly. Marly's character was strong and independent and I loved how she stood up for herself and her beliefs even when life kept on pushing her down. The chemistry between Drake and Marly was nice, but nothing spectacular. I did feel that the author was rushing the book from the middle and she did not explore the characters more which resulted in a lack of character depth. Overall this is a sweet and short read with a lack of character depth and a rushed story line.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Marly Akers returns to Marietta jilted by her fiance and pregnant and the blow to her ego comes when she begins to work for the family newspaper  and shares a tiny apartment with her disapproving mum.

She thinks that things definitely cannot get any worse, but then her teenage crush Drake Everett who broke her heart decides to make a re-acquaintance. Drake these days seems to be a different as he is now funny, sweet, decent and supportive and Marly realizes that she could fall for him again.

Game Player (Game #1)

Game Player

This was my first time reading a book by B.J Harvey and I felt that the story had a lot of potential, but it was ruined by one of the most annoying female characters I have ever seen. I really enjoyed Matt's character because he was an alpha male who was not afraid to go after he wants, but at the same tine he could be sweet and romantic. Mia's character was the most selfish and hypocritical character I have ever read because she was so judgmental when it came to Matt as she was always judging him on his past even through his current actions were proof enough that he was no longer a player. She was also being a hypocrite by labeling him a player when she was a female version of him who could never stay in a relationship. I especially hated the fact that she was making the decisions for both of them based on the past. The chemistry between Matt and Mia was explosive and well written and I really enjoyed the authors dual point of view style of writing. Overall this was a book with a great potential, but it was spoiled with an annoying female character.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Matt Taylor has always been known as the king of the cut and run, where he wines and dines his date, then sleeps with them but is out the door before they can even think of a second date.

Mia Roberts is the queen of the chase, she meets and dates guys after which she leaves them. She is a social butterfly who is happily single and wants to stay that way.

The players now both meet and the challenge is set, but they will soon find out that playing the game can have the best rewards possible.

SEAL's Bride (Small Town SEAL's #1)

SEAL's Bride

This was my first time reading a book by Vivian Wood and I really enjoyed her dual point of view writing style, however she did not fulfill my expectation of the lovable alpha male hero which I have come to expect from SEAL books.  I found Sawyer highly annoying because he was being a man whore and treating Remy like a booty call and he did nit show much qualities of a Navy SEAL. Remy's character was irritating because I could not accept her decision to hide her son from Sawyer and the fact that she just assumed the worst of him and even when he is treating her like crap she is still falling back into his arms. I also felt that the author did not give much importance the issues in Sawyers life such has his troubled relationship with his father or the PTSD that he was suffering from. The chemistry between Remy and Sawyer was good, but annoyed me at the times when Sawyer was being a man whore. I found that the book also left many gaps like Sawyer confronting his father and the many days at the end when Sawyer disappeared. The part where Sawyer finds out about his son was very anti-climatic and I expected more emotion from that scene or it to happen earlier in the book and they take a while to sort through the drama which was definitely lacking in the book.  Overall this is an okay book with good writing and annoying characters, but I  had expected much more from a book based on SEAL's.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Sawyer Roman is an ex-SEAL who has always left a trail a broken hearts behind him, so when he gets back to his hometown he has no intention of changing his ways, that is until he meets Remy River again.

Remy River is the hot blonde who shares history with Sawyer, but when Sawyer sees her again she slams the door shut on his face because apparently she has not forgiven him for his past sins.

One White Lie (Barrington Billionaires #1)

One White Lie

I was really looking forward to reading this book as I am a huge fan of Ruth Cardello and since the characters from her series crossover into this book  I though it would be similar and enjoy the book, however this book sorely disappointed me as it had awful characters and poor writing style. Brice's character was a selfish, entitled, arrogant ass who used his past as an excuse for everything including being a coward and I absolutely could not stand him even though he was an alpha male because his behavior was just cruel and pathetic. Lena's character was just as bad because she had no back bone and she never called Brice out on his bad behavior. She also just let him waltz back into her life like nothing happend and let him treat her like crap. The chemistry between Lena and Brice was average and I did not feel an emotional connection with them. Jeanette writing is average and I could not stand the internal dialogues that the characters were having and I also felt that she skipped through the important parts of the book. Overall this was was poorly written book with awful characters and I will not reading any more books in this series.

Rating: 2/5

Plot

Brice Henderson had traded everything in his life to become successful in his business and his company is currently on the verge of their biggest success which would endure him the top spot in the business arena. The last thing he needs now is a distraction from the past.

Lena Razzi spent the last couple of years trying to get over Brice, but when she is offered an opportunity of a lifetime, would she take the risk even it means her ending up with a broken heart again?

Wicked Favor (The Wicked Horse Vegas #1)

Wicked Favor

This was my first time reading a book by Sawyer Bennet and I found it extremely hot and passionate. I loved Jerico's character because he was an alpha male who ran a successful business and he was extremely gorgeous, however I did not agree with the way he wanted to take revenge from Jayce but at the same time I understood the reasoning behind it. Trista's character was good and I enjoyed how she explored her sexuality with Jerico and the extent she was willing to go just for her niece. The chemistry between Jerico and Trista was explosive and will definitely leave the reader hot and bothered as Sawyer Bennet manged to incorporate sex with a good story and not just give us a book full of sex. Sawyers writing was good and I enjoyed the secondary character of Knynan and I am looking forward to read his story. Overall this was a hot book with a good story line and I am definitely going to read the rest of the series.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Jerico Jameson is the owner of an elite sex club in Vegas called The Wicked Horse and he rarely spends the night alone or with the same woman twice. Lucky Charm (Lucky #1)

Lucky Charm

I am a huge fan of Carly Phillips, so whenever I find her books free on Amazon it becomes a must read for me, however this book kind if disappointed me because it did not have the makings of a Carly Phillips novel. Generally Carly's male lead characters, which are my favorite part of her books, are possessive alpha males who love protecting and fighting for the women they love, but Derek's character was meek. He had just accepted the hand fate had dealt him as well as he was to afraid to fight for the women he loved and this completed annoyed me because this book deprived me of the dreamy book boyfriend that I find synonymous with Carly's books. Gabrielle's character was a strong independent women who was not afraid to stand up to her enemies or to fight for the man she loved and I really enjoyed her brave spirit. The chemistry between Derek and Gabrielle was good, but not the steamy explosive chemistry that is always a part of Carly's book. Do not get me wrong and think this is a bad book because Carly Phillips writing was once again flawless and phenomenal, but it was just not what I have come to expect from her book. I also felt that there could have been more drama and the whole family curse was a bit far fetched, but overall this is a good book by a great author that is just a bit different than your normal Carly Phillips book.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Long ago, a witch had cursed bestowed a curse that stated every Corwin male that married for love would be destined to lose his love and his fortune.

Derek assumed that he could beat the curse by breaking up with the only woman he loved - Gabrielle and by marrying someone else. Will her unbreakable love and stubborn streak be the lucky charm Derek needs to break the curse.

More Than Once (Chasing the Dream #4)

More Than Once

This is my second time reading a book by Elizabeth Briggs in the Chasing the Dream series and I enjoyed this book as much as the I did the previous book.  I loved Andrew's character because he was the perfect combination on a good and bad boy, but it did annoy me when he kept on giving Becca mixed signals. Becca's character was of a bad girl who was trying to put her life right and I really enjoyed the fact that she learnt from her mistakes and was not afraid to admit them. The chemistry between Becca and Andrew was was steaming hot and I loved the both sides to them. Elizabeth's writing was flawless and I loved her characters and dual point of view style of writing. The only thing I wished there was more of was drama and some stronger emotions. Overall this was a great novel filled with lovable characters and I am definitely going to read the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Andrew West is done being the nice guy, after a rejected proposal he starts over in a new city and vows to never risk his heart again.

Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1)

Rock Addiction

I had heard many great things about Nalini Singh's books , so when this book came up free on Amazon I decided to read it and I must say that this book did not disappoint me as it was captivating and well written.  Nalini's writing was brilliant and she manged to make me fall in love with her characters  with her well conceived plot and scenes. I loved Fox's character because he was sweet and romantic, but at the same time he was a possessive alpha male who protected what was his.  Molly's character was strong and independent and I loved that she stood up to Fox when she thought he was not right and she also believed in fighting for the man she loved even through difficult situations. The secondary characters of Fox's and Molly's friends were well written and set a good foundation for the rest of the series which I am dying to read. The chemistry between Fox and Molly was explosive and I loved that Fox was not only after a physical relationship, but also an emotional connection. Overall this was a brilliant novel with great characters and anyone who loved novels based on bands will definitely enjoy this book.

Rating: 4/5

Taming Rourke (Devereaux Billionaires #4)

Taming Rourke

This is my second time reading a book by Mallory Crowe and I really enjoyed the hot billionaires in her novels. I loved Rourke's character because he was your typical alpha male billionaire who wants to protect the girl that he is in love with, but at the same time he can be sweet and caring. Cali's character was kind of annoying because she was back and forth all the time and she seemed whiny at times. I did not really get Easson's, Colin's and Walter's characters because Mallory did not explain their roles and give us a better back story on them in this book, hence I would not suggest reading this novel as a stand alone because it can be  very confusing. Mallory's writing was good , but I felt there was a lot of loop holes in the book for example we would like to know more about Cali's character and her past as well as more about the feud between Luke and Rourke. The chemistry between Rourke and Cali was explosive and really well written. Overall this was a good book if you love alpha male billionaires and love stories filled with a bit of danger.

Rating: 3/5

Snow Angel (Hope Falls #5)

Snow Angel

This is the third book that I am reading in the Hope Falls series and the fourth by author Melanie Shawn and this book has everything you expect from this series such as a sweet and short romance and the small town charm. I enjoyed Melanie's dual point of view style of writing  and the simplicity of her characters as it made for a short and easy read. Eric's character was my favorite in the book because which girl does not love a hot alpha male in uniform, but I also loved his sweet and romantic side. Lily's character was a strong woman who has fought against all odds to survive in the cruel world and she does not use her past as an excuse to give up living which is what I enjoyed the most. The chemistry between Eric and Lily was sweet and romantic and was definitely brilliantly written. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the other books in this series, but I suggest you read the series in order because I was getting a little confused because I have not read all the characters stories. I did wish that there was more drama in the book and that the displayed the danger aspect a bit more. Overall this was a short and sweet romantic novel set in the charming town of Hope Falls and if you love dogs you will definitely enjoy this book.

Rating: 3/5

Picking Up The Pieces (Picking Up The Pieces #1)

Picking Up The Pieces

After a very long time did I enjoy a book so much to the point that I was addicted and unable to put the book down until I had completed reading it. This was my first time reading a book by Jessica Prince and I loved her writing style because it manged to evoke so many emotions from me. I loved the strength in Emerson's character because she was able to get over her heartache and move on with life and she also learnt from her past mistakes which only made her a better person. The alpha male qualities of Luke's character is what I loved most about him, but he annoyed me when he felt he just come back and apologize and that will take all the pain and heartache away and everything will go back to normal. The secondary characters in the book of all Emerson and Luke's friends were well written and conceived and I especially loved Savannah's character and her loyalty towards her best friend. The introduction of these characters definitely laid the foundation for a brilliant series. The chemistry between Luke and Emerson was good and I really enjoyed their more romantic moments together. Overall this is a brilliant book filled with strong friendships, pain, heartache and unrelenting love and it will definitely take you on a emotional roller coaster with the characters.

Rating: 4.5/5

The Cowboy's Virgin (Whiskey Hill Ranch #1)

The Cowboy's Virgin

This is the story of family enemies falling in love and trying to fight the odds to be together. It was my first time reading a book by Emerson Rose and I really enjoyed her dual point of view writing style as well as her funny captions before each chapter. I loved Beau's character because he was sweet and charming, but at the same time he had all the alpha male qualities the I love in my male characters. Charlotte's character was that of a submissive who did what everyone told her to do and the only time she stood up for herself was against her parents. The chemistry between Beau and Charlotte was extremely hot and definitely my favorite part of the book. I also enjoyed the inclusion of Alzheimer's disease and diabetes because it made the characters and their problems more realistic. I did wish that there was more drama in the book and the family feud part of the story was explored a bit more. Overall this was a great read of enemies turning into lovers with explosive chemistry between the lead characters.

Rating: 3.5/5
