Bare Ass in Love

Bare Ass in Love

This is my first time reading a book by Sasha Burke and I really enjoyed a book after a long time because the author's dual point of view style of writing was fun, light and almost flawless. Summer's character is fun, hardworking, intelligent and different and I loved that the book addressed the sexism present in some job fields, however I would have liked more insight to her past. Jason's character was your typical alpha male billionaire, but at the same time he was very down the Earth and I absolutely loved his character especially when he would get jealous and possessive. The chemistry between Jason and Summer was explosive and definitely one of my favorite parts of the book. I did wish that the book had a bit more drama and detail, but never the less it was brilliant book and I look forward to reading other books by Sasha Burke.

Rating: 4.5/5

Plot

Jason is a billionaire builder who does not usually consider blurring the lines between boss and employee, but Summer is a sexy temptation who is obsessive over work details. She is a good tenant and employee who does not throw herself at Jason because he is rich.

Summer thinks Jason is a saint because he hired her for her dream job and gave her an extravagant loft to live in. He can be a grouch when Summer wakes him up in the middle of the night to discuss work, but he still a great boss and landlord. But one day Summer begins to notice Jason as a hot and sexy man and sparks begin to fly between the two.

Decidedly Off Limits (By the Bay #1)

Decidedly Off Limits

This was my first time reading a book by Stina Lindenblatt and I found that I really enjoyed her dual point of writing style as well as her friendly characters. Kelsey's character was adorable because she has been crushing on her brothers best friend and could never act on it because she seemed unaware of how obviously attracted Trent was to her, however I felt that at times her character was conflicting because she could be free spirited at one minute and serious the next. Trent's character had potential which was not explored because he was just depicted of a workaholic player who has a fear of commitment.  The chemistry between Trent and Kelsey was sweet and romantic, but at the same time it was very hot. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of all their friends. I did wish that the book had a bit more drama and that the characters had a bit more depth. Overall this was a light and sweet romantic read and I would possibly read the rest of the series.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

Trent Salaway in one of San Francisco's most eligible bachelor who is a highly successful portfolio manager, a workaholic and definitely a ladies man who has everything he wants except one.

Kelsey Quaid is a physical therapist who was dumped by her ex fiance because she always came second to his work. This is the exact reason that even though she has been crushing on her brothers best friend for most of her life, there is no way she can go there because she cannot go from one workaholic to another.

Before Kelsey's brother leaves for a SEAL mission he ask Trent for one favor which is to ensure that his sister does not date any assholes. As Trent tries to do this he and Kelsey begin to spend more time together. Sparks begin to fly and the next thing you know, things are getting physical between them. Now Trent has to decide what to do with the woman he is falling for especially since her brother can take him down easily.  Kelsey would have to decide if Trent is just another workaholic or if he is decidedly off limits.

When You're Ready (Ready #1)

When You're Ready

This was a sweet and emotional book, that got me addicted to the story to the point that I was unable to put the book down. It was my first time reading a book by J.L Berg and I really loved the writing style because she managed to put so much emotion in the characters though the dual point style of writing.  I loved Clare's character because she was a strong independent single mother and widow who survived her husbands illness and  death. Logan's character was the cliche because he was the rich heart broken playboy who reforms after love at first sight, but I did enjoy his character development. The chemistry and romance between Clare and Logan was hot and sweet at the same time, which was really enjoyable. I liked the secondary characters of Logan and Clare's friends as they brought a sense of family to the book. I wished that the book showed more of Logan's profession or even interactions with his father and sister because the book was too perfect and really lacked the drama  needed to make it excellent. I would have also like to see part of Logan's recovery at the end because that part was  rushed and not given much importance. Overall this was a great book filled with emotions and I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Resisting Roots (Lotus House #1)

Resisting Roots

This is my first time reading a yoga based book as well as the first time reading a book by Audrey Carlan and I must say that I really enjoyed the experience. I am someone who knows basically nothing about yoga and this book helps even the beginner understand the lingo and the different postures, this makes the book easy to read. Audrey's writing was good and I loved the dual point of view style of writing as well as the sense of family she added into the book. Genevieve' character was a strong independent woman who was left to shoulder the responsibility of her siblings after their parents died and I really enjoyed the mature personality that the author gave her as well as how she was always putting her family needs first. Trent's character was brilliantly developed as he grew as a person from a player to a family man over the entire novel. The chemistry between Trent and Genevieve was extremely hot especially with the inclusion of the yoga. The secondary characters of both Trent and Genevieve families were well written and added to the depth of the novel. I only wished that there was more of the sporting side included as well as more drama. Overall this was a great book with the combination of romance, yoga and family and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Genevieve Harper is a 24 year old hot yoga instructor who life has been filled with responsibility and sacrifice.  She is trying to make the most of raising her two sibling after their parents tragic death, this means she definitely has no time for a man or romance.

Trent Fox is a successful baseball player who has the reputation of being a 'player' both on and off the baseball field. He has recently suffered from a torn hamstring which forces him to go to the Lotus House Yoga Center for recuperation. There he meets the gorgeous Genevieve with whom he secures private lessons that end up showing him how sensual the art of yoga can be.

Can love bloom between a woman who is rooted in her life and responsibilities and a man who resits the notion of staying in one place?

Some Sort of Crazy (Happy Crazy Love #2)

Some Sort of Crazy

This was my first time reading a book  by Melanie Harlow and I found that this book sucked me right in with its humorous characters and situations.  I really enjoyed Melanie's dual point of view style of writing and her effortless way of creating funny situations. Natalie's character was that of a strong and independent woman who loves to plan her life out and does not like change, but I did like the way she opened up after breaking up with Dan. I found Mile's character to be very childish and immature but I liked how he developed towards the end and realized what he wants out if life. The chemistry between Miles and Natalie was sizzling ht and I really enjoyed all their intimate scenes. While reading the book I did find a grammatical error and I personally felt that the book was dragging towards the end. Overall this was a funny book that shows the great journey of two friends becoming lovers

Rating: 3.5/5

Plot

Natalie Nixon has everything she ever wanted out of life, she has a successful bakery, the perfect boyfriend and her dream house, so when a psychic tells her that her life is about  upended by a stranger she laughs it off.

Summer Heat: A Storm Inside Novel (The Wild Pitch Series Book 1)

Summer Heat: A Storm In Inside Novel

I am a huge fan of sport romances and I really enjoyed this second chance love story filled with family feuds and unconditional love. This was my first time reading a book by Alexis Anne and her writing was good, but I wished the book was written from a dual point of view because as I reader at time I wanted to know what was happening with Roman's family and what was going through his mind. I also did not enjoy the past and present style of writing as I wished that they had just given us the background story first and then continued with the story because it sometimes felt like we were missing important facts about their past. Roman's character was your typical alpha male sportsman however I enjoyed the fact that he did not let his injury ruin him but instead he made it positive and became a better person. June's character always seemed confused as she did not know what she wanted or needed and this kind of annoyed me. The chemistry between June and Roman was good, but it could have been better. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of all Junes family members as they added to the humor of the book. Overall this was a good second chance sports romance filled with family drama.

Rating: 3/5

Plot

June Daniels had fallen in love with the wrong man many years ago because they could never be together due to their family feud.

Roman St James was off limits, but this feud was neither Junes or Roman's. Their family rivalry is one of the most famous in baseball history, but Roman is nothing like his father. Your Irresistible Love (The Bennett Family #1)

Your Irresistible Love

After a very long time did I found a book that I really enjoyed because this book had the almost everything I love in a romance novel such as an alpha male, an independent female character and great chemistry.  This was my first time reading a book by Layla Hagen and I found that I really enjoyed her dual point of view style of writing and the fact that she did not only make this book about the romance but also about family and friendships. I loved Sebastian's character because he was a self built billionaire who loved his family and always put them first in his life and of course I loved that he was a gorgeous alpha male who gets possessive.  Ava's character was great because she was self sufficient and independent and was more impressed by Sebastian's family and character rather than his money and success. The chemistry between Sebastian and Ava was hot and I really enjoyed that the book was more than just sex, however I did wish that there was more drama in the book. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters of all the Bennett siblings because this book has set the foundation for a great series. Overall this is a great billionaire romance filled with family and a whole lot of chemistry.

Rating: 4/5

Plot
