The Fairy Tale Bride (Montana Born Brides #1)

The Fairy Tale Bride

I always love reading books based in the magical town of Marietta, but somehow this book disappointed me a little because it was too short. This was my first time reading a book by Scarlet Wilson and I enjoyed her writing style as it was simple and showed both perspectives. Lisa's character was one of a strong and independent woman who has overcome much pain in her life, but I did not get to know her well enough to fall in love with her character. Adam's character was a typical romance hero who was wary of women because he had been burnt in the past, but I felt we knew even less about Adam than we did about Lisa and that made him hard to relate to. The chemistry between Adam and Lisa was good, but nothing special because the author left out the intimate scenes between the two. The story definitely lacked depth as there was much potential that was left untapped as the ending was rushed and it felt like the main characters fell in love and decided to get married way to quickly. Overall this was a sweet and short romance that lacked depth and character development.

Rating: 2.5/5

Plot

Lisa Renee is the owner of Marietta's bridal salon and when a celebrity wedding rolls into town, Lisa is determined to do her best by hosting the fairy tale wedding for her client. The celebrity's badly behaved bridesmaids end up breaking Lisa's poise, excitements and hopes of putting her boutique on the map. The only place she seems to find peace is the pediatric ward in the local hospital where she volunteers, but a meeting with the new and handsome doctor changes all of that.

Dr Adam Brady is enjoying his new job in his new home town of Marietta, but he has not been able to focus since he met the gorgeous Lisa. As Lisa and Adam spend more time together, sparks begin to fly and he realizes he might not be the only one hiding something.

A Thousand Letters

A Thousand Letters

This was my first time reading a book by Staci Hart I found that I really enjoyed it because after very long a book touched my emotions and made me cry as it was a beautiful book about second chance at love.  Staci's writing was flawless and brought to life heart wrenching emotions which did not allow me to put the book down once I had started reading it, which meant me pulling an all nighter just to finish the book so that I could control my emotions. Wades;s character was stubborn and egoistic and I did not enjoy him much because he only though about himself and his own grief and not about his sisters or even Elliot. Then there was Elliot's character who never stood up for herself and allowed her family and Wade to treat her like a doormat, I just wished that she would have fought for what was most dear to her. The chemistry between Wade and Elliot was okay, but their emotions made up for the lack of sizzling chemistry. I loved the dual point of view style of writing because it enabled the reader to get into the  mind and heart of both the characters and understand the reasons behind their actions, however I did wish that they had communicated more openly as it would have saved both of them a lot of heartache. Overall this was a well written and conceived book that will take you on an emotional roller coaster and will force you to look at life from a different perspective.

Rating: 4/5

Plot

Elliot has spent the last seven years regretting the decision to let the love of her life go, after a thousand letters went unanswered she felt broken and lost.

Now so many years later he is back, but Elliot is unable to recognize the man he has become, but she is still able to see a glimmer of the boy she walked away from when she was young.

Maybe if he had come back home under different circumstances, he would be able to speak to me without anger in his voice or rejection in his eyes.

One regretted decision sent him away from Elliot and an painful journey brought him back. If only they could find their way back to each other.

Rescuing Rayne (Delta Force Heroes #1)

Rescuing Rayne

After downloading this book, I was procrastinating reading it because I thought I am not going to like this book and it is going to be boring, however this surprised me and turned out to be a fantastic read filled with action, suspense and romance. I am a huge fan of military and SEAL based books because I love the alpha male heroes who are always willing to protect their woman and country. This was my second time reading a book by Susan Stoker as I had read Protecting Caroline  a while back and I found that I enjoy her dual point of view writing style and her strong characters. I loved Ghost's character because he was the typical protective alpha male who always put others first as well as he never hid his intentions from Rayne at the beginning. Rayne's character was not your typical female, she was strong, independent and always brutally honest and I had really enjoyed that. The chemistry between Rayne and Ghost was scorching hot and well written because their relationship was not only based on physical attraction. I loved the action drama as it made the book more interesting as well as gave it a difficult angle. The incorporation of the SEAL's from the previous series was a great touch as it was great seeing the two different teams getting along. Overall this was a brilliant book filled with hot alpha males, action and romance and I cannot wit to read the rest of the series.

Rating: 5/5

Wild Boys After Dark: Logan (Wild Boys After Dark #1)

Wild Boys After Dark: Logan

I am a huge fan of Melissa Foster and I had read the second book in the series before I had read this one, but once again Melissa did not disappoint with a skillful writing and swoon worthy characters. I absolutely loved Logan's character because who does not love an alpha male whose only wish is to protect the woman he loves with his life. Stella's character was a bit weak and annoying at times because the back and forth with wanting to be with Logan just became irritating.  I really enjoyed the inclusion of the Bad and Wild boys in the series because it added to the family theme that helped make the book more emotional. Melissa's writing was once again flawless and I love her dual point of view writing style and the fact that she added an edge of danger to the book which made it more exciting. The chemistry between Stella and Logan was off the charts hot and was definitely well constructed and written. My only issue with the book was the ending as it felt rushed and incomplete because I dont think Stella would be rid of her fear and Kutcher unless he was dead. Overall this was a brilliant read by an extremely talented author and I definitely want to read the rest of the series.

Rating: 4/5

Coerced: Blackmailed by the Billionaire (Buchanan Romance #1)

Coerced: Blackmailed by the Billionaire

I am generally a fan of the Fifty Shades types of books, but this book was a huge disappointment as it was unable to hold my attention and lacked a story line. It was my first time reading a book by Alexx Andria and I did not enjoy the third person POV style of writing because it did not allow the reader to connect with the characters. I absolutely hated Sutton's character because he was not an alpha male or a gentlemen he was just a spoiled asshole who is used to getting whatever he wanted and I could not stand what a prick he was to Elizabeth especially when it came to cheating on her. Elizabeth's character was okay because she was able to stand up to Sutton sometimes, but she also did get annoying when she let him have his way after he cheated and then she was willing to forgive him because of an expensive holiday. The chemistry between them was good, but this booked seemed only about the sex and not about the story or characters because the reader barely got to know the characters background stories and the reasons behind their insecurities. I also felt that the book was rushed towards the end which was very irritating. Overall this was a disappointing read of one of my favorite genres and I definitely would not be reading the rest of the series.

Rating: 2/5

A Kiss For The Cameras (The Hollywood Showmance Chronicles #1)

A Kiss For The Cameras

This was a sweet contemporary romance which is is full of drama, emotion and fun. It was my first time reading a book by Olivia James and  I enjoyed her dual point of view writing style because it enabled the reader to understand both Nate and Paige. I liked Nate's character with his British accent and romantic side, but he got a little annoying when he decided he knew what was best for Paige and when his self esteem was getting in the way of his relationship. Paige's character was my favorite because she was strong, intelligent and independent and she never tolerated anyone's bullshit and always called Nate out on his bad behavior. The chemistry between Nate and Page was good, but there was definitely room for improvement. The secondary characters of both Nate and Paige's friend was well written and conceived and definitely set a good platform for a wonderful series. Overall this was a wonderful and light romance which will definitely leave you with warm feelings and I cannot wait to read Max and Carrie's story.

Rating: 3.5/5

Plot
